Mark R. Rowan, DDS, MD
Dr. Mark Rowan was raised in Merced and attended Hoover Junior High and Golden Valley High School. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Cum Laude from Brigham Young University. He then attended the UCLA School of Dentistry where he met his wife, Laura. Following their time at UCLA they moved to Boston, Massachusetts where Dr. Mark completed a six year oral & maxillofacial surgery residency at Massachusetts General Hospital. During his time as a resident he also graduated from Harvard Medical School, earning his MD in 2017.
His interests and training include in office IV sedation, wisdom tooth surgery, dental implants, cosmetic chin surgery, corrective jaw surgery, trauma and reconstructive surgery, and pediatric surgery. He is on staff at Mercy Medical Center in Merced. He is fluent in Spanish and loves serving the Hispanic community in the Merced area.
Dr. Mark was actively involved in dental implant research during his training. He has authored or coauthored articles in the Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, Oral Radiology, and Retrovirology.
As a family, Mark and Laura enjoy traveling, golf, soccer, exploring the outdoors, and visiting new restaurants. Dr. Mark is also actively involved in the G3 Foundation, a humanitarian organization that treats the underserved in the Dominican Republic. They have two children (Callum and Lillian) and an energetic dog named Maverick.
